As the entry-level professional product of the Visual Studio family, Visual Studio Professional is the mainstay developer tool of choice for many developers and development teams around the world. Prior to the release of Visual Studio 2012, we lowered the estimated retail price of Visual Studio 2010 Professional. Since this pricing change makes the full version less expensive than the previous upgrade pricing, we no longer offer an upgrade price for Visual Studio Professional.
